BISM Mine is located in East Kalimantan, a region known for quality coal deposits and the second largest province of Indonesia. It is in a coal rich belt with abundant mines (operating and under development) both upstream and downstream.
Spread over 5,000 hectares, our mine is located on the banks of river Mahakam near Melak.
The nearest airport is Melak, about 40 km from the site. The site can be reached from Melak within an hour drive on paved roads followed by 10 minute boat ride across the river.
Melak is well connected to Samarinda (around 380 km by road) and Balikpapan. There are regular flights to Melak from Balikpapan and Samarinda.
